Our boat, “Resalto”, is the only one in Attica awarded the Blue Flag.
As award holders, we have a responsibility to raise public awareness about environmental issues.
So, on Sunday, August 31st, we organized an innovative clean-up event!
We set up booths at two locations in Porto Rafti (Vourleza Beach and the port), equipped with trash bags, gloves, hand sanitizer, and nets! Anyone who managed to collect a bit of litter was rewarded with a cold beer from our coolers (or a soft drink for the kids)!!!
Smokers received one of our pocket ashtrays as part of another environmental campaign we’re running this summer!

At first, we promoted our initiative through local social media and our online channels.
On the day of the event, we quickly caught the attention of beachgoers at Vourleza, who actively contributed to the cleanup—both physically and emotionally—with their kind words and social media posts!
In the afternoon, at the port, we joined forces with groups of children, a few local fishermen, and the girls from “Batala” Apartments.

Our goal wasn’t just to collect litter—that’s the easy part.
The real aim was to raise public awareness and invite passersby to take action themselves.
Too often, even virtuous acts like this are met with hesitation or social stigma, which we aimed to break by introducing a dose of gamification (reward-based motivation):
Pick up trash, get a beer.
The idea was so well received that we promise to return with similar initiatives in the future!

We sincerely thank the Markopoulo Port Authority Fund and the 1st Port Department of Markopoulo, who authorized and supported our initiative, contributing to the promotion of environmental awareness!
