On Thursday, May 15, 2024, the Blue Flag award results for 2025 were announced in Glyfada.

The Blue Flag 2025

The Blue Flag is the most recognized international symbol of environmental quality! It is awarded to organized beaches, marinas, and tourist boats. The managers of these beaches, marinas, or vessels (municipalities and businesses) must meet strict criteria. These concern environmental protection, visitor education, sustainability, safety, and accessibility.

For example, managers must ensure the presence of a lifeguard, a ramp for people with disabilities, and environmental information for visitors. At the same time, they must conduct regular water sampling and analysis to ensure the waters are suitable for swimming.

As was the case last year, after a significant and demanding effort, we succeeded — both as a business and as a vessel — in aligning with the program’s requirements.

Tourist boats, in order to be awarded, must meet 51 criteria related to:
Water quality
✅ Public health
✅ Accessibility for all
✅ Safety
✅ The coastal environment
✅ Sustainability

Our Achievements

On our boat “Resalto”, you’ll find innovations that are rarely seen on other vessels of its size:

We Prioritize Your Safety

Our boat is equipped with complete safety gear, an emergency lifeboat, a defibrillator, and a full first aid kit. Additionally, our crew is certified in lifesaving techniques. The vessel also features fully modern navigational equipment.

Accessibility for All

To assist individuals with mobility challenges in boarding, we provide a specially designed wheelchair and have built a dedicated boarding ramp.

We Provide Educational Material

On board, you’ll find a QR code linking to our digital guide. It offers information about the Blue Flag program, as well as historical, environmental, and cultural insights into our destinations. You’ll also find facts about Greece’s marine fauna and the specific region we’re sailing in, along with water quality samples from the spots where you’ll swim!

We Preserve Maritime Heritage

“Resalto” is officially recognized as a traditional vessel. It is made of wood, and its hull follows the shipbuilding lines of boats constructed for centuries in the Eastern Mediterranean. Recently, we even revived its traditional sail system known as “randa”. It is a rare type of rigging found on very few boats today.

We Protect the Environment

Onboard, we use eco-friendly cleaning products and paints, and we have a recycling system in place. Since last year, we also launched a clean beaches campaign, where we distribute individual, reusable pocket ashtrays to smokers so they can carry them to the beach!

Our Award

On Thursday May 15th, our efforts were officially recognized! Both the Greek and international Blue Flag offices honoured us with the award!

We stood out among the vast Greek fleet and became one of only 17 tourist boats nationwide to receive this distinction — and one of just 3 award-winning businesses in total. Our boat remains the only one in Attica to hold the Blue Flag!

We are proud that, beyond offering high-quality cruises, we’ve managed to do so with respect for both the environment and people.
