We meet and exceed all the necessary criteria.
“Resalto” is a traditional wooden caique. The unique shipbuilding craftsmanship with which these boats have been constructed has been shaped through centuries of observation and evolution.
Since 1994, the EU, in an effort to curb overfishing in the Mediterranean, has enacted a law requiring traditional fishing boats to be destroyed. Since then, thousands of caiques have been lost in vain. At the same time, only a handful of master shipwrights remain alive, making this craft an endangered art.
Repurposing these caiques for leisure is a beautiful way to preserve their legacy.
